Gorvenment Imposed of Curfew on Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships in the Oti Region

A town in Ghana's Volta Region is called Alavanyo. The Alavanyo Secondary Technical School is renowned for being in the town.The institution offers a second cycle of education.


The settlement of Nkonya is located in Ghana's Oti Region. Nine towns make up the state as a whole: Ahenkro, Asakyiri, Betenase, Kadjebi, Ntsumuru, Ntumda, Tayi, Tepo, and Wurupong. The Nkonya Senior High School is famous in the area.The institution offers a second cycle of education.

The Nkonya language is the primary tongue in the town and surrounding area.


With effect from Sunday, June 18, 2023, the Interior Minister has extended the curfew in place in the Oti Region's Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships and the areas around them from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The government continues to thank the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, young people, and residents of the region for their efforts to maintain peace in the region and encourages them to use the existing channels for resolving any of their problems and disagreements.



In the meanwhile, the government would like to repeat that it is illegal for anybody to possess or use any offensive weapons or ammunition in the two towns or the areas around them. anybody discovered in possession of either will be detained and punished.
